Staying in a lakeside allows you the opportunity to meet some other great folks, many who have been coming back year after year. While the lake-side cabin was excellent, looking back, the privacy of the first cabin we stayed in was even better. I can't write anything that hasn't already been said. The lake's watershed is home to loons, osprey, bald eagles and small mammals. The lake boasts about 8 Bass Tournaments each summer. Every Spring alewifes climb up the famous alewife ladder into the lake to spawn. It is home to large and smallmouth bass, yellow and white perch, lake trout, landlocked salmon, smelt, pickerel, alewife and eel. The lake area is 4,625 acres with a maximum depth of 110 feet. Sunset Cabins are located in midcoast Maine about 6 miles off Route 1.
